With a new update out for the SpeechLive Desktop App for Windows, the new patch has seen the implementation of some highly sought-for features. 

Automatic and Manual Uploads

Starting with an automatic upload update, dictation devices connected to your computer and all dictations will be uploaded automatically. If you still wish to upload manually, you can still click the upload button in the main user interface and select the dictations on your computer that you want to upload to SpeechLive.

Upload Summary

When uploading to SpeechLive, you may have several different files to send at the same time. With all these files, you may forget which ones are which but with the new upload summary feature, you can access this information by right-clicking the SpeechLive icon in the Windows Notification Area (right side of the taskbar). The summary list will then show you all of the dictations you have recently uploaded and shows which of ones failed or were renamed.

App Runs in Background

Philips have implemented a new setting that allows the Desktop app run in the background. This is especially useful if you only use the app for uploading. Once you enable the setting, it will run in the background every time you minimize the app.  

New User Interface

Due to customer feedback of the User Interface (UI), Philips have made some tweaks to meet demands. Feedback stated that the majority of authors using the software on a daily basis all mentioned that they wanted the desktop app to take up as little space as possible so that they could have more space for the software they were dictating into. This is why they have made edits to the layout of the app by reducing some aspects of text to simple icons that save space.
