As speech recognition gets more advanced it's important that your hardware keeps up - and it can!

The Philips SpeechMike now has Conversation mode available, designed to capture discussions at your desk to use with Ambient Voice Technology like SpeechLive AI.

When you place your SpeechMike on your desk, it will switch automatically to conversation mode, and switch back to dictation mode when you pick it up again.

How to configure conversation mode

Conversation mode is enabled by default, as long as your device is on the latest firmware. Once it is, configure conversation mode using one of the below options:

1. Device hotkey: Press F2 + F4 simultaneously for 5 seconds
2. Philips SpeechControl software v4.9 (also called Philips Device Control Center)
3. Philips Remote Device Management software (PRDM)

The hotkey option cycles through a few different position control settings. The Record LED on your device will show you which setting has been activated: 

• Amber: Conversation mode enabled
• Red: Microphone mute mode enabled (conversation mode disabled)
• Green: Position control disabled (conversation mode disabled)

Compatibility

Conversation mode is available on any of the below Philips SpeechMike devices manufactured after June 2021:

• Premium LFH3500 series with serial numbers ≥ 594585x
• Premium Touch SMP3700/3800 series with serial numbers ≥ 149890x
• Premium Air SMP4000 series with serial numbers ≥ 50001x

You can find your serial number on the back of the device. LFH3600 series and SMP3810 are not supported.
